Spend local on Small Business Saturday


Next week is Small Business Saturday, a designated shopping day to support small businesses. Wedged between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the day represents more than another chance to shop holiday deals; it highlights the importance local businesses have in our community and economy.

Local businesses are owned by people who are part of the community – their families live, work and play here. Small business owners are personally invested in the city’s future and key quality-of-life issues, such as education and city services. They also provide the most jobs to residents. Nationally, small businesses make up more than 99.7 percent of all employers. Supporting businesses on Small Business Saturday – or any day – gives more of your money back to the community.
